CHUCK
KESILMAN A RISING STAR
Singer/songwriter/12-string
guitarist Chuck Kesilman got his first
guitar at the age of 14. He has since
mastered the instrument and performs
frequently in the region at a number
of popular venues.
Due to his love of children, he earned
a Master¹s Degree in Elementary
and Secondary Education from Centenary
College. He performed at the Centenary
Amphitheatre for his graduation class
receiving a standing ovation for his
performance.
After graduation, Kesilman
worked as a probation officer for the
JuvenileCourt for Caddo Parish. This
position gave him the opportunity to
help redirect the lives of troubled
children with trust, patience and understanding.
He often gave these kids the benefit
of his guitar playing expertise in hopes
of giving them a life-enriching focus
and building their confidence and self-esteem.
He had a positive influence on dozens
of children prior to leaving the position
to pursue his long-standing desire to
write songs and perform professionally.
Since he began to seriously
focus on his musical career, Kesilman
has toured extensively throughout the
western states and southwest. Just to
name a handful of local venues, Kesilman
has played the famed Red River Revel,
Noble Savage, Lee¹s, Juri¹s
Café, Karpeles Museum and more
to increasingly devoted crowds.
He is currently based
in Shreveport and continues to perform
special concerts both solo and with
other artists where the performances
are billed as Chuck Kesilman and Friends.
Since an early age, he
has been a devoted fan of The Beatles
and performs a long list of their songs
whenever he performs. However, he also
is accomplished performing the music
of an eclectic array other artists including
Eagles, CCR, Jim Croce, Herman¹s
Hermit, The Animals, Don McLean,
Dave Clark Five, Joan Baez, Pink Floyd,
Genesis, Mamas and the Papas and more.
His original music is
becoming an increasing focus for Kesilman.
In 2000, Kesilman became
a partner in a real estate development
business in Shreveport, which provides
the flexibility for him to devote a
great amount of his time to his musical
career.
Chuck Kesilman currently
resides in south Shreveport and is married
to the former Bonnie Buras.
Momentum is currently
strong in his performing and writing
projects and the future is looking only
brighter indeed for even more success.
Now a seasoned veteran of stages across
the country, Kesilman is a consummate
performer whether singing or playing.
His charm and professionalism
continues to attract audiences to his
many performances across the region.
